Web Site
Prices
What does
a site cost?
That's a fair, but difficult, question. Web Sites are simply not a commodity so there
is no such thing as "the price." Prices are determined by your needs which drives the make-up of your
site. Generally, there are four elements that make up the price - the site itself (the HTML code that is
sent to your browser); the hosting services (the servers that you connect to);
the domain name (the "www" address that you use to locate your site); fees for developing the site, including
the HTML code, the text, the graphic elements, and any special features.
To complicate it further, there are Do-It-Yourself (DIY) sites and Turnkey keys. The cost of
the DIY sites includes a licensing fee for the an online user application tool set that allows you make
changes easily and immediately. These sites are also more feature rich than the Turnkey sites.
We never burden you with domain name registration fees and hosting services fees - those are
built in to any price we quote. Our quotes consist of the an ongoing cost for the site and a one-time cost for
implementation.
So, what's the price?
Implementation fees vary depending on your exact
requirements - but generally cost between $100 and $250 for Turnkey sites, and between $200
and $350 for DIY sites. They can, of course, be higher or lower and we need to understand your
requirements to "pin down" an exact price.
Site costs vary depending on the complexity, size, and features of your site - but generally cost
between $10 and $25 for Turnkey sites, and $31/month for DIY sites. Once again, we need to
understand your requirements to "pin down" an exact price.
Turnkey sites are little easier to quote than DIY sites because you pay for the sites based on the number of
pages. To understand that better, we recommend that you CLICK
HERE and print the document.
On-going content management is another possible area of cost that you should consider. Our DIY sites don't
require a programmer and are generally handled by the site owner - so there is no charge for maintenance. Our
Turnkey site do require a programmer to change and, therefore, have a charge. We prefer to set up content
management agreements (usually $150/year) and then make the changes as you need them. You can also elect to
have changes made on a time and materials basis for $35/hour with a 30 minute minimum. Time and materials may
make sense if you don't plan to change the site often. Your choice! It is another area we need to discuss and
decide what fits your needs best.
Please contact us. We want you to be completely satisfied with your site and
that means understanding all your costs.
